I think on average there were 7-12 gifts. I have 4 siblings, so a total of 5 of us. Plus our stockings were filled on St. Nick's day and we got a family gift (a game) every year.
Oh and Carter gets about 5-10 or so. This year I have a lot I could give him, as I buy throughout the year, but his gifts for his birthday and Christmas are already being shipped to me (to put away until the 14th and 25th) and he already is getting so much. So I might only give him 2-3 from us and donate the rest that we have for him to toys for tots.
I don't recall. I always got clothes and stuff....I didn't count those. I guess I got one or two big gifts and some little ones.
I'm getting DS one gift....it's his 1st xmas so not a big deal.
Also, I want to give him one Santa gift and the rest from mom and dad b/c when I was younger all my big ticket item gifts came from Santa and I always thought mom and dad didn't care or listen to me.
My parents used to fill the living room with presents for the 3 of us every year. I think they spent around $500 apiece on us, and we were NOT wealthy! They went into debt every year. We get DD most small stuff: books, a couple of toys, and stocking stuffers. She just had a birthday and doesn't need too much, and I just don't want her to feel like Christmas is a time to sit back and be showered with crap that will collect dust for the rest of the year...so I try to only get her a few things we know she'll love and play with.
Growing up, maybe 10 smallish gifts? A lot of them were practical, like a scarf, or mittens, or makeup, etc. And my brother and I got one big gift (like a Nintendo) from Santa to share. We were spoiled.?
We probably got S 10 or so last year. So far, I think I have 5 or 6 for her this year. ?
I don't know - as far as I remember it was never a set number of gifts, my mom had a certain amount to spend and bought us stuff w/in that amount. Some years were less, some were more. Plus it depended on what we got. One year I got a bunch of small stuff that was cheap - another year I got a few gifts that were pricier. It was more about the amount spent (I think) then number of gifts, and that varied each year depending on financials.
Jackson is getting 2-3 big gifts from us/Santa - train table/track and maybe some other track. He is also getting several trains from us. I'll probably get him some books and a few other small gifts.

Re: How many presents...
We got 3ish from my dad and one from my mom each year for Christmas.?
This year, the girls are each getting one "big" ($20ish) gift and maybe some small things for their stockings (less than $5)?

From my mother I got one larger one from "Santa" and 2 or 3 smaller ones including a pair of pjs that we opened on Christmas Eve.
We give my DD three gifts, something to wear, something fun and something educational plus something larger from Santa and the pjs on Christmas Eve.
