Hello I am 14 weeks pregnant with my first child and first pregnany. I was having lunch with a couple of girlfriends and each of their sons. One of which has one and a half year old twins (boy & girl) and one that has a two and a half year old son. I was sitting and I picked up the younger litttle boy and placed him on my lap my girlfriends then said, "no you are not supposed to pick anything up at all when you are pregnant." A little while later one of the boys dropped a crayon so I bent down and picked it up off the floor and once again my girlfriends say, " no you are not supposed to bend down at all when you are pregnant." I have never heard of such a thing, but has anyone out there heard this as well? Is there any truth to this? They told me the reason is because it can cause a miscarriage.
Ladies please help. Thank you.
Re: Is this fact or myth?
Yes, it's true. You're never supposed to bend down or pick anything up while pregnant.
I pray to Jesus Toast that you are kidding.
You can pick up stuff, you can bend over, you can have sex, you can go running, you can drive and you'll be fine.
Both are facts. You need to be more careful!!!
PS...Are you really this dumb?
How did she get away with all that through the whole pregnancy? How do you plan on doing the same?
Well... I've been refusing to bend down lately because there's no telling if I'll be able to get my big self back up.
You must remain upright for the rest of your pregnancy. Don't even lay down or your unborn child will have 3 eyes.
I hope this helps.
Mommas Little Yankee Fan!

you know, there might be something to the bending over rule...
because lately, I've been feeling like every time I bend over I'm going to blow this baby right out my ass!
were your friends kidding??? Um yea, I would have asked them if you are to wear flip flops the entire pregnancy then.
They are all myth. Well, you shouldn't be lifting heavy things at the end but 14 weeks, you are fine.
OH.GOOD.LORD.HELP.ME.
HAHAHA!
Thank you for a good laugh!
you can't be serious.
