How do you...

deal with inlaws... more specifically your mother-in-law???  mine is from hell and is crazy as fvck (you should see her med cabinet...) any way, usually i drink... heavily... during his fam functions just to buffer her insane comments etc... but obviously HEAVILY is out of the question- i'll just be sipping one glass of wine with dinner- not enough to even warrent a buzz!  how do i deal with her when my patients is seriously at a ZERO.

Re: How do you...

  • Sorry I can't relate -- my ILs are perfect. If she gets outta hand--personally I ouldn't hold my tongue. Tell it like it is, you have a right to! If you want you can just blame your behavior on hormones. Everyone will understand!!

  • Slip her some alcohol......  :)

  • "I'm so nauseous from being pregnant, I need to go lay down" and then take a book with you!!

Enjoy your wine, honestly I'm a HUGE drinker when not-preg, and one glass gets me buzzed now.

LOL.    Yes, yes, why do you think I suggested it Surprise

  • I have not had to deal with inlaws for the last couple of years because my man disowned them after they commented that they were happy our daughter passed away....anyway I agree that you should play the pregnancy card and slip away

oh my god.  i promise to never *** about my mil again- well, okay i can't promise that, but i am so sorry- that is truely aweful.  i'm so sorry for your loss too.

  • With my outlaws as I like to call them, I just grin and try to bear it...I will stick up for myself though if they get TOO out of line, in a polite but firm manner of course.  Then afterwards, I call one of my girlfriends, sister, or mom and vent!
