Nip question

I am not due for 2 more months, and I want to breast feed (you may have seen my questions about it before), but my nips are very dry and cracked at the tips...like deep cracks..they don't hurt at all, but I can't figure out why. Is this normal? I put lotion on them to try and help....is there something that I should be doing now to prepare?

Lanolin!  Get some lanolin, it will help with the dryness and cracking.

Ditto pp.  I've heard lotion makes it worse.
