I have a question about first movement. I have what I assume to be feeling kicks, but its almost uncomfortable, kinda like a pinching? I thought maybe if she was kicking into it, maybe it would feel that way?
IDK. I have an appt. tommorrow, but I am just so darn curious what it is.
My first ones were right at 20.5 weeks, felt sort of like a muscle twitch... and were really inconsistent. Sort of felt like when your eye twitches but obviously a bigger area. DH felt first ones at 21.5 weeks.
My placenta is on my left side and pretty high up, like half way between hip and boob I'd say. This entire time I have rarely if ever felt anything on my left side at all and frankly at every ultrasound he's on my right side as well (probably coincidence I guess).
My understanding is that if and when they kick or are near the placenta you don't really feel anything. Not sure what the pinching could be. Most people describe the first movement (for those with anteriors) as twitches, light pushing etc.
You are right at the point where I start to feel stuff so it could definitely be the baby. I'll just say that mine weren't really uncomfy, more just like little spasms. Does that help at all? LOL
Last thing, I doubted that it was the baby at first. I wasn't really sure, thought it might be gas or just normal stomach stuff, but it seemed to happen around the same time each night so I figured that it must be him doing his thing.
Now I feel him all the freaking time. It will get strong, even with an anterior, and you will both be amazed and how much and how hard they can kick and punch you. Mine sticks his butt out as far as my skin will let him now that he's running out of space. So I sit and wait for him to come out. LOL
Re: Anyone with anterior placentas?
Mine has been too.

Spasms could be a better word, its just a weird sensation!
I am not sure of the exact placement, so I will have to ask!
Thanks, that did help alot!

Good luck at your appt.
