Security safety?

I had to go to court today and there are security stops where you walk through a metal detector thing (like at the airport).  I walked through without even considering it, but a pregnant woman after me insisted on being patted down instead of walking through.  I was under the impression those things are perfectly safe and do not emit radiation.  Am I wrong?

This is a scary thought.

 I traveled through the airport security when I was only a few days pregnant.

I've flown several times and not thought twice about it. I can't imagine there's an issue.

There is NO issue with with metal detectors. They are fine.

don't worry about it, they are perfectly safe to go through while pregnant.

Maybe someone should tell her to stay away from computers and cell phones too... even microwaves for that matter.

I hope she knows about the no deli meat diet.  Geeesh.

Good grief...I'm amazed by the number of things that I haven't even thought of to be worried about. I've flown a couple of times since BFP and will this week, too. It never even crossed my mind to be concerned about security...and I'm not concerned now.

Yeah, I just googled it.  I didn't think it was a problem but the woman made me second guess myself.  The month I actually got pregnant was the one month I didn't think I ovulated so didn't obsess during the 2ww b/c i was so sure I wasn't pregnant.  So of course it was the month that I drank and ingested class c drugs....i didn't want to add radiation exposure to the list of things that keep me up at night.
