"Temporarily," of course, because of the economy, but whatever. This couldn't come at a worse time. And I doubt they're going to restore matches anytime soon because of the money they'll be saving.

Heard a report from an economist on the radio last night that puts economic recovery a good 18 months out. Yikes.

Yeah! I guess I thought everyone did, but a friend of mine just told me the same thing. That his company has never matched either.

Guess I should consider myself lucky!!

That is a weird thing to suspend.  Your company must have higher than normal participation.

We are hoping that our company chooses that option instead of cutting staff, to be honest.  We are matched 100% of up to 6% which is pretty much unheard of to begin with.

This economy sucks ass. MH got his hours cut to 12 the week of T-giving, Christmas, and NYE.

Our company matches up to 4%.  I, too, would rather they cut matching rather then lay people off.  Our company seems to be doing okay though.  They just absorbed the increase in our medical insurance rather then passing it on to us.  I'm really sorry though for everyone going through tough times.  I dislike my job but am happy as hell to have one!

Wow, you?d think they?d want to reduce their taxable income. That stinks! Do they still have the hiring freeze? I remember you were in the weeds a few weeks ago. Economy, and firms? reactions to them, suck. My boss and 8 other people got fired last week.
