Am I the one one who does gift for the kiddos only?

My folks, MH's folks and the great grand parents get holiday pictures framed but the only gifts we give are to the kids in the family.

MH and I don't even buy for each other...

  • We do the exact same thing as you.

  • dh and i don't buy for each other but our bdays are 17 days before/after xmas so we'd rather splurge for that.... and our parents buy us presents so we don't go lacking :P
  • We only buy for the kids, and my parents.  That is because the y insist on buying for us.  We don't buy for each other, we normally do a vacation in early December which is considered our gift.
  • We started a gift exchange last year between my siblings and their spouses.  We pick a name and buy a $20 gift.

We still buy for DH's brother..

We buy for all the kids.

We also still buy something for our parents.  This year they might just get photos.

DH and I haven't really bought for each other in a while.  Last year I think I picked up something for him from DD for about $20.

  • This year, things are tight, so we?re doing kids only. We luck out because my family doesn?t really do xmas, and DH?s side, there aren?t too many kids. We might do something like holiday calendars for the family, but it?s a big maybe. DH may get a PS3 game, if he gets anything. Our camera got stolen recently and we need to buy a new one, so that?s our present to each other this year!

  • we're doing that this year b/c we are poor :)  DH and I might get one small gift for each other- and put some fun stuff in stockings for each other- but now it's all about DS.

my siblings and I stopped doing gifts for each other when the kids arrived, too.

it's such a waste to get gifts for adults.

We do a "Dirty Santa" "Yankee Swap" type gift exchange on x-mas eve with just the adults- it's fun and so much easier to buy ONE gift than 8!

  • I couldn't imagine not giving something special to my DH.... I understand not doing it if it is a money issue though but even then I would figure something out that was special to share with him.
  • We give mostly to just the kids.  Although, we do gifts for our parents which is usually gift cards and a calendar of the grandchildren.  DH and I don't exchange gifts, we may do stocking stuffers this year though... but then again, maybe not, LOL.
  • We buy for my nieces but stopped buying for my brother and SIL last year.  DH's family does not live in the US, sometimes he sends his brothers or Mom something and sometimes he does not.  We buy for my Mom and we buy for each other - although this year we did not talk about a limit but last year we limited.  Even if we totally cut back to say $25 I would always want to buy for DH b/c I think that the kids need to learn that Christmas is about giving and not just getting and I don't know that I can do that if I only give to kids.

  • We do the same. Just the kids in the family. Grandparents get pictures anf frames.

DH is IMPOSSIBLE to buy for, and so after Christmas, we just go out shopping together and buy stuff for ourselves. But we do gives each other cards.
