Cabbage patch preemies

Does this bother anyone else?   I saw them in Target the other day and thought why on earth would you make a preemie doll.  I get that they are smaller versions ergo cuter, but still.

I never thought it was strange until just now.  Hmm.  I guess since the other ones are spawned as toddlers, then needed a reason to make baby ones.

I don't think its strange. I had one when I was a kid. Her name was Iona:)

They had them when I was young (early 80's) so no, it doesn't bother me. It didn't bother me at the time either because I was an extreme preemie and I liked having a doll that was "like me".

Now I just think they are hideous.

For whatever reason it just struck me as odd that they would "promote" preemies but I didn't look at it from the angle that if your child is a preemie they can have a doll that is like them.  From that respect it makes more sense.

I had one when I was little.  I never really thought about it until just now.

I used to have one.  His name was Robert Jeremy, I think.

I thought he was cute, but I never really considered the implications of preemie-ness.

I don't think it's weird. I got one for my 1st birthday and still have her. Her name is Lucy and she lives in a tiny chair in my living room.

I have mine from when I was younger. I didn't know it was a preemie til I did some research last week. I just thought it was a baby CPK. But I would like to get the new preemie for my daughter, who is a preemie. I think she would like it.

That's how I see it, preemies relating to preemie dolls.
