This wouldn't "match", right? Chestnut UGGS with a chocolate (cotton/casual) skirt? Everyone keeps saying chestnut matches everything, but that does not include other shades of brown, right?

I wouldn't. Chestnut goes with black well, but not brown.

I wear chestnut shirts w/ dark boots so why not the other way around??
