Re: Terrible hemorriahds, What should I do?

  • Oh no, I'm so sorry!

I think maybe a warm bath?  I'm sure some of the ladies on here will give you some good advice.

  • I don't know if I have a ridiculous heat tolerance, or what- but ( pardon the mental image, please- ) I would turn the shower water as hot as I could stand, bend over, and spread my butt cheeks- for as long as I could stand....( I swear it helped, b/c they always felt better after a shower, and they seemed to go away faster than before I did that...)

I think that hot water dries them out or something?

also I thought the preparation H cream was delightful.

  • ooops- after my graphic confession, I meant to say Good Luck, and sorry about your butt!
  • call your ob.  he will prescribe Rx cream.  it will help.  promise. :)

  • All of the above. Wink

    Take a warm sitz bath.

Call your doc for the prescription.

And, if you have a Walgreens, go to where they sell preparation h and find this stuff called Balneol. My surgeon recommended it. (Yes, I had the dreaded 'roid surgery.) It's about $15 a bottle, which sucks, but you should use it in the shower -- no soap -- and after every time you use the bathroom. It's really soothing. Not sure what other drugstores carry it, but I know Walgreens does, or you can buy it online.

  • Get the prep h that has the cooling aloe. Amazing. If that doesn't work, call the doc. Prescription stuff is way stronger. This sounds really gross, and obvious, but make sure to wipe *really* well. Hemmy is irritated if you don't. And, when all else failed, I had that dreaded surgery too. That was the worst way to spend spring break last year.

  • definitely get a prescription - it was the only thing that helped me.
  • Yup....prescription all the way.  I think it's called ProctoFoam.  But, my BFF and I (she needed it during her pregnancy, too) affectionately call it "Ass Foam".
