"she doesn't like me."  my grandma has said this to me and my aunt told me this last night - referring to Malia not paying enough attention to her or wanting to be held by her or getting hugged by her.

1.  she sees you once a year.  she does not know you.

2.  she's a toddler with a bratty streak and a limited attention span.  unless you have fruit snacks, you are invisible.

3.  when i start getting hugs - you can.  hugs are a rare commodity around here.

agreed...what am I supposed to do about it!  I can't FORCE my children to hug anyone...and refuse to MAKE them kiss anyone...they hug and kiss if they want!

Annoying, isn't it...and the holidays are going to be full of that comment!

lol. so true. People really do forget what normal baby/toddler/kid behavior is like.

UGH, My MIL says this ALL.THE.TIME. It is so annoying. Here is a though LADY, get down to her level and MAYBE she will bond with you. If you continue to sit across the room from her because "she doesn't like you" then guess what? SHE NEVER WILL "like" you!
