Do you ever mentally correct someone's grammar or pronunciation when speaking with them? I find myself doing this more and more lately. Of course, I suppose it is better than verbally correcting them, right?
Yes, I mentally correct. There is a man in my nursing class that always corrects the teacher if she says something differently than the way he thinks it should be said. So annoying.
Luckily, I don't work or deal with many people who don't speak intelligently. If they slip up, I'll tend to correct them if it's a one-on-one convo.
In order to preserve my sanity, I only mentally correct message board retardation. I put it through my intarweb-speek filter, and ignore the abominations, unless it's totally unintelligible. Then I usually ask "Would you like to try that again, this time in English?"
Yea I do it verbally... on accident. I can't help it! I'm not ugly about it but it just happens. Hence the reason my nickname at work is "spell check"...
