changing formula ?

Has anyone changed formulas and then ended up going back to the original one, because it seemed to work the best?  Also, how long does it usually take to notice a difference?  DS has been on Similac - which he seems to tolerate fine.  He isn't always pooping daily and when he does poop - it's green & liquidy, also - occasionally he has a tough time passing gas (maybe once a day).  So, the pedi suggested we try Enfamil, Gentlease.  Just wondering what others have experienced. TIA  :)

Re: changing formula ?

  • Well, I know they are all similar/made in the same plant/etc., but my DS had a very hard time (with gas) when we ran out of the target brand "gentle"  and got him the brand name enfamil gentlease. I've never run out again. It was almost immediate, by like the third bottle. Oh and we originally switched from the regular to the gentle because he was having serious gas problems. I don't know that I would switch if it is just occastionally. The regular one is the best (most protein?) for them I think. Like they always say, every baby is different.
