NMR: modeling/acting

There's a model casting call extrememly close to where we are and I am considering taking my boys to try it out. I've always thought about it, but didn't want to have to drag them to NYC...

I'm not looking into turning my boys into the next Olsen twins..but just to make a little side money (if that's even possible).

Has anyone done this? What was your experience like?

Thanks!

  • When I first graduated college I worked as a production assistant (glorified gopher) on commerical shoots.  Basically you'd bring in your kids, they might take some still photos or video.  If hired they can only work so many hours a day because they are a certain age.  They get a flat fee depending on what it is for.  My friend's little 3 year old boy just did an ad for Hasbro.  He worked a few hours and got $300 which they put into his bank account.  You shouldn't need to pay for anything and you should also be allowed to stay with your kids the entire time.

  • I actually signed my trio up with Adeles kids. Her office is located in Staten Island but she has been around for several years and they dont require any money to sign the kids up. The only thing I had to do was purchase a book from them I think it was $38 and its 1 per family It has all the basic info on modeling and all types of forms you may come across etc.,,,I get called approx 1-2 times a month and most of the calls are in NYC sometimes Jersey City. I kinda stopped going to as many because it was getting very costly between gas, tolls and parking. Plus so many children are at the castings I felt like our chances are really slim of getting called back. Try it give it a shot you never know what may happen! Good Luck!
