When did your child start sitting up

My daughter is 7 months but actual age 5 months. Anyway I have been asking the day care to practice with her sitting up because i do at home. So anyway on her little "report card" it said she sat up for the first time. So when we got home i put her on the floor and she just sat there!!!!!!! I as just in tears, it was wonderful!! I mean sometimes I get a little discouraged because she is a little behind, but this truly was so great to see... Tear as I sit thinking about it...

Yay! Our DD started getting the whole 'sitting up' thing not long before she was 7 months (born 6 weeks early)....today she is almost 15 months old and completely caught up on milestones...so don't get discouraged...our pedi said most babies born around that time will eventually catch up.

My DS sat up somewhere between 7-8 months real age, 5-6 adjusted age.  Like the previous post, my now 18 mo is completely caught up

Sounds like you're right on for actual age sitting. Those milestones are always plus or minus a couple of months--no one has a "textbook" baby!

My girl started sitting on her own a few weeks ago. She can now sit up for about a minute by herself. She just turned 6 months, and was born 8 weeks early.

Isn't it fun to watch them with their new perspective on everything?

5 weeks early, sat up around 6-7 months, closer to 7 I think

mine are just starting (as in yesterday!) to sit in the boppy..still a little ways from being unsupported, but awesome none the less

congrats!! i know its a wonderful thing, i love milestones:)?
