I see a lot of posts re: babies loving mac and cheese...do you give it to them whole (as in the full noodles), process it or the gerber mac and cheese....any concern with the whole dairy thing?
I make Elijah's mac n cheese and use kitchen shears to cut everything in the bowl. I've been having difficulty getting him to eat veggies, so I made him butternut squash mac n cheese earlier this week. I pureed the squash and added it the cheese sauce. It made it taste awesome, way better than plain mnc. I thought I was being so creative, but when I googled it, apparently lots of other people were just as creative. Also, I add chicken or hamburger bits for protein. Oh, and when I'm making the cheese sauce (I do this for any cheese sauce, it makes alfredo taste incredible) I also add cream cheese. You really have to whisk it to get it to mix, so I do this before I add the shredded cheddar. It's a lot of dairy, cream, cream cheese, cheddar. DS does ok with it though, I would say as long as you've started dairy, you're probably good to go.
Re: mac and cheese
Joseph had the Gerber m&c exactly once. It was NOT a success. I'm not surprised. It tasted like Elmer's glue.
When I started him, I cut a noodle into three or four pieces, or I used pastina or acine de pepe instead of elbows.
Now? He'll eat an elk. And I mean that. He had a bite of elkburger yesterday.
Wow Elk....that's impressive!
My brother wants to give Kaylee McDonalds Sausage....which I still debate what type of meat is in it.
