Anyone work weekends AND holidays?

I'm an RN and DH is in retail so BOTH of us work odd shifts, (days, evenings, and nights) in addition to weekends and holidays. Currently, my ILs watch DS, but I'm interested in changing things up. I'm thinking a more structured care place would be better for him (for multiple reasons). Any thoughts on what we could do? TIA

We do. DH works rotating shifts; I work set shifts, Sunday-Wednesday, but I start at 4am. When I first went back to work after she was born, my mother watched her as we needed, then when she was about 14 months, we decided to go the daycare route. We send DD to a daycare center Monday-Wednesday . . . even if DH has the day off, she goes anyway to keep her in routine (plus, we have to pay for it anyway). My mom watches her if DH has to work on a Sunday. I go back to work next week and DD will continue her daycare routine, but DS will go to my mom's everyday (Sun-Wed). When he's a little older, he'll go to daycare as well. You will probably be able to use a daycare center for some of your needs, but given their "limited" hours, there's no way you'll get by without using your IL's at least sometime.
