Bedding...matching or coordinating?

I was looking at bedding today and I'm not sure what to do....get 2 matching sets or try to find sets that somewhat coordinate.  We have one boy for sure and possibly a girl....but they will be in the same room.  Just curious what other people did for bedding.

Re: Bedding...matching or coordinating?

  • We've got two boys and we have matching bedding. We're going pretty simple with the bedding though, since most of the stuff in a typical bedding set isn't recommended under the "Back to sleep" rules anyway; I just ordered valances, cribskirts/dustruffles, sheets, and a diaper stacker that are all in the sailboat/lighthouse theme we have in our nursery. Then the baby blankets and even their Halo sleepsacks are coordinating shades of blue.

If I were having boy-girl twins, I'd probably go for coordinating rather than matching bedding.

  • I am having ID twin girls & I got two of the same bedding set. However, the set has a reversible bumper and dust rufflewith a different pattern on the other side of each, so that depending on what side you used in each crib, it would look like coordinating sets but not the exact same. Does that make sense?  I really like the ide that I have the option of doing them exactly the same, or having them coordinating. I don't know how I'll set them up yet...
  • We did coordinating. ?I have PIB.
  • I have boy/girl twins and we went coordinating.  Neutral color on the wall and DS's bedding is bee and DD's is lady bug.  Pictures are in my blog -- archive back in March.  Link in siggy.
  • We are having b/g twins and decided on these sets.  (I am having computer issues so sorry if I posted twice).

  • I have identical girls, but we didn't match their bedding. As soon as I knew who they were (and I realize that probably sounds stupid, but they were totally different all ready), I chose bedding for them, based on who I saw them as. Molly's bedding is Lambs and Ivy Sweet as a Daisy- it's cute and playful, it's the first girl bedding I loved, it's purple and green. Lilly's bed is Olivia at BRU. It's pink and frilly and elegant, it's lighter colors, quieter... Ok, I haven't lost my mind, but I felt like I knew them before they were born. So, maybe look for something that you feel fits them personally. They are going to share everything, I figured, why not give them their own beds?
