If you own expensive maternity jeans ($65 +)

Is it worth the money to you, what kind do your own, and do you LOVE how they fit?  I tried on a couple pairs of maternity jeans, one from the Gap and one from Mimi Maternity and they were both too short, droopy in the butt, and made my butt look super flat (which I don't have a flat butt).  My prepregnancy jeans don't do that to my butt.

Re: If you own expensive maternity jeans ($65 +)

  • I have a pair of Paige maternity jeans that cost around $180.  I'm 5'11, so I had to get something designer in order to get the length.  I really do like them and get lots of compliments (some people have asked if I'm still wearing my regular jeans!).  My only complaint is that the panel is not very large/supportive.  I have to wear a bella band to help keep them up.

  • I wouldn't typically pay so much for jeans, but I got my first maternity clothing, jeans, at Pea in the Pod.  They are True Religion and look like jeans I would wear normally.  They are really long so I am having them hemmed.  They also have Sevens, but they didn't flatter me.  I'll get a lot of wear from them.  Hopefully every penny of the $245 they costed. I'm pretty small, 5' 2'' now 109 lbs as of yesterday, and they fit good with a little room to grow in the butt and thighs.  Try going to that store if they have them around you.  Or maybe online.  Good luck!
  • My one girlfriend (who just recently had a baby) gave me some advice when I got pregnant. She told me that the one thing I should 'splurge' on is a kick a** pair of jeans (she said that her designer jeans were the only thing she felt 'cute' in while pg).  She sent me a $50 gift card in the mail and told me to take it to A Pea in the Pod and put it towards a nice pair of designer jeans. SOOO... that being said, I bought a pair of Joes Maternity Jeans from A Pea in a Pod.  Let me tell you... I LOVE THEM! They are actually nicer than my pre-maternity jeans! I get compliments on them all of the time. Yes, they were a little pricey, but well worth it in my opinion! They are all I wear on the weekends!
  • I have a pair of $180 Juicy Couture maternity jeans and LOVE them. They make my butt look good, and my legs look sort of thin-ish, and make me feel sexy, and I get tons of compliments on them. Worth. Every. Penny.
  • I have 7 for man kind jeans from Pea and A Pod and a few others I don't remember the names of? But, I do agree with PP in that I LOVE them and it is really does make a difference to get a GOOD pair of jeans!!! I hated feeling uncomfy and not myself all the time b/c i couldnt wear my buckle jeans ;) GL!

  • I bought a pair of Mavi's Secret Belly Fit ($118) from Destination Maternity. They look like my normal Citizens but where about 100 less (at least in that store). I like them a lot because they are still tight fitting so I don't feel like I'm wearing huge jeans. I also bought a paid of Motherhood Maternity jeans that are a little more "bummy" but they are comfy and still look cute with boots ($28 on sale).
  • I have 2 pairs of citizens maternity jeans, one purchased with each pregnancy for about $180 each. Worth it, worth it, worth it.  I wear them all the time (6 out of 7 days probably) and its important to feel good in your clothes.
  • I own a pair of IT jeans from Mimi, the were $115 and worth every single penny because they look hot and don't look "maternity".   I spend $100 on regular jeans though, so spending that amount on maternity didn't seem too bad to me.  I'm a tough fit in regular jeans and always have issues unless I buy expensive ones so I knew it would be the same for me in maternity.

  • I have a pair of citizen maternity jeans and I wear them all the time and they are cute, but I hate the high panel on them. I have to fold it down just to be comfortable. We only have one store that sells designer mat jeans so most of them are citizen. I wish there were different ones I could choose from.
  • I own a pair of Citizens of Humanity jeans that were $175. I am 5 10" so I had to get designer jeans for the length. They were worth every penny! I teach school, so I wear them 2-3 times during the week and every weekend. I figure I will get tons of use out of them when we have baby #2.

I also have a pair of IT jeans from Mimi in an awesome, slimming dark wash. Love them! But that being said, I also have a pair of fit and flare from Motherhood with the secret fit belly that cost $35 and I love those as well. I'm hoping these two pairs and two pairs of black dress pants from the Gap can see me through the rest of my pregnancy.
