Help with growing pains!

My son has been waking up crying and kicking the wall the last three nights - and doing it most of the night. Nothing makes him stop, and for a while we couldn't figure it out. We took him to the doctor's and they said nothing is wrong with him.

Then we tried adjusting his night light and leaving the hall light on - nothing.

Tried giving him another blanket and adjusting the temp. in his room - nothing.

This morning he was grabbing at his calves and saying "oww Momma, oww!" so my husband is wondering if he is having growing pains in his legs - because he used to get them a lot as a child.

So... what can we do? My MIL suggested a warm bath before bed, but I want some suggestions incase that doesn't work.

TIA!

  • Hmm.. I'm not sure what it could be. I sure hope he feels better soon though

  • maybe a warm bath followed by a massage.  how are his shoes??  i know some older kids that had bad growing pains and had to get shoe inserts.  not saying that is your case but how are his feet/arches?  does he like to stand on his tip toes?  he might have a pulled muscle?  maybe check with his ped, they might be able to suggest a pain realiver for growing pains.  hth!

He doesn't stand on his tiptoes at all - we just got him new boots, but we haven't been out much, and we don't wear shoes in the house.

Thanks for the help though - I'll pay closer attention to see if maybe I am missing something.
