How far away from window should crib be?

Is it just the pull cord on the blinds that is dangerous?  The furniture fits best with the crib near the edge of one window.  The pull cord is on the other side but is there another danger that I'm not thinking of?

    I would think it's OK until the baby can start pulling up.  Then you'd have to worry about the window being open, even with the screen.

    If there are no cords where the baby can reach... I don't see anything wrong with having it near the window. At least I don't think so.

    Our crib will be in front of a small window with plantation shutters. I have no concerns about it as it is on the 3rd floor and not one we open often.

    And another thought, it's probably colder near the window. Not that it's a safety thing of course, but just something to think about.
