WOW! Colostrum!

So, DH and I were sitting on the couch last night talking about the breastfeeding class we went to, and I was joking around squeezing my boob into the "nipple sandwich" like the instructor showed us, and darn if a little drop of colostrum came out! 

I don't know why I so surprised and delighted, but I was. It was like, "Holy cow! These things really work! Wow!"

Tee hee. The things I get excited about these days.

I think I over did it one night this week with stimulation and woke up the next morning w/ colostrum dripping on my arm! I know that it was bc I was laying on my side and they were getting squished, but still it was crazy!

I have had an increase in it over the last week. It is amazing how our bodies work.

Weird huh??  The first time I saw some come out of mine I thought it was cool and wanted to show dh...somehow he didn't see the wonder in it:)

I know, crazy and exciting, huh? I've been leaking at night when I sleep. One word of caution, though. I mentioned the leaking to my OB, and she advised me not to try to express anything out of my breasts, because that can cause contractions! Just FYI.

I'm jealous.  I want mine to work!  I'm afraid to do anything resembling stimulation though... this child will promptly take it as her cue to evacuate, i just know it!

Yeah, I've heard that too! In fact, when you give birth, just putting the baby on your chest can help cause the contractions that push out the placenta. I backed off on squeezing my boob pronto.

Our bodies are freakin amazing. :-D

That is so cool! I am jealous for 2 reasons: first, b/c I really wanted to take a breastfeeding class and never got around to it, and second, b/c my boobs have never leaked anything. I'm a bit scared to try, to tell you the truth - but maybe in a few weeks I'll attempt the nipple stimulation ECUTeacher spoke of to induce labor, LOL!!
