NOva post reminded me of a friend's friend.... this is what happened.

 She just gave birth to a daughter... the "dad" got his wife a pearl necklace the day she gave birth to celebrate.  When the daughter will be getting married, they will give the pearl necklace as a wedding gift to her.  When they have another child, he will get his wife a ring and when that child will be getting married the will give it to her if it will be a girl or to their DIL if they will have a son.  Isnt' that the coolest thing?  I wish I could hint so that DH could do something like this.

Would your DH pick up on the idea if you told him the story and just mentioned how cool that is?

That is really cool. I will have to leave my screen open on "accident" and see if DH reads it.
