For those with DC in daycare...

Every now and again, DD will have a blowout up her back.  Of course, it gets on her clothing and she's changed into another outfit.  My question is this, when this happens with your DC, does your daycare rinse out the messy clothing, or do they just put it in a plastic bag and hand it to you?  I don't have a problem cleaning it, it's just that when this happens earlier in the day, the mess just sits there, is more difficult to remove, and stains.  Just wondering if this was normal or not.

Re: For those with DC in daycare...

  • Our daycare puts it in a plastic bag, they do not rinse or pre-treat.  The clothes sit all day, but I haven't had a problem with staining as long as I rinse and pre-treat when I get home.

  • my daycare will usually rinse out the clothes...  My DS's previous teacher used to throw them in the wash for me so the clothes from the blow out would be washed and in his cubby the next day - that was the best, but she spoiled me!

  • Our former DC just put them in a plastic bag for us to clean.  But I usually did not have a problem with staining.

  • straight into a plastic bag without rinsing.  I was doing wash about every night when she was younger!  Oxiclean baby and shout seem to work best for me.
  • It's a big hassle with the health regulations - our DCP would have to disinfect the sink and everything if she rinsed them out, so she just bags them.

Totally reasonable and I didn't ever have a problem with poop stains. Food stains are another story.?

  • She puts itin a plastic bag in her cubby. A tip to remove stains: soak clothes in a bucket with warm water and oxiclean. That worked wonders even with clothes I had already washed but still had stains in them.
  • no rinsing.  Often I found the glove in there too. I was able to soak in Oxy baby and most of the time still get it out.  Some things I didn't even want to try and threw away.
  • No rinsing, just put in plastic bag. I would never expect them to rinse it out.  Doing that would keep them from doing other things that are more important. I haven't had any problems with staining. I just use a spray before washing.

  • right into a plastic bag..
  • We always just got them in a bag. But I use Napi San (google it) and have never lost an outfit. It is a miracle.

?It is similar to oxyclean but better - it is pure sodium percarbonate where oxyclean has that as the active ingreedient but it has other junk in it.

  • They hand wash/rinse it and put it in a plastic bag.
  • UGG - I used to love thos pastic baggies.  But I would rather them interact with the children then be rinsing out his clothing.  We went through a period where every time he pooped he was blowing out so sometimes he came home with 2 or 3 baggies.  This is what I did to get all the stains out - spray with Oxy 10, rinse, spray again and let it soak in the sink with cold water over night.  Has always gotten every stain out.

  • Mine will do either depending on the size of the blowout!
  • It really depends on the person.. the regular ladies will rinse it out and scrub out the stain. The non regulars usually just put it the bag after wetting it. THey said I could bring stain remover and they would spray it but I haven't yet.

  • Our daycare rinses it and then puts it in the plastic baggy.
  • I don't think they are allowed to rinse them out?

Mine just go right into a plastic bag. When I get home, I put them in hot water with baby oxyclean and they usually come out everytime.

  • I work in daycare and the state does not allow you to rinse out the clothing.  We are to bag it up and send it home.  It sucks I know.
