Spilling the Beans... Nervous

Our plan was to wait until Christmas to tell our family and then we'd tell friends and my work after that. We are telling our family with a picture frame https://tinyurl.com/5obkgv with the most recent u/s photo as a Christmas gift.

FIL has cancer and was told last April that he has 6 months to a year to live. MIL just informed us they are cancelling Thanksgiving and Christmas and going to their property in Arizona. We're sure this is MIL's doing and not that FIL wants to so we're all a little frustrated that we may not get to spend his last holidays with him.

In light of this information, we've decided to spill the beans and tell them our news before they leave. They're leaving on the 26th and my next u/s is the 24th. I told DH if the u/s is good, we'll tell them when we get together with them on either the 24th or 25th before they leave. So, whether we are celebrating Christmas early or late, we are going to have them open one present early and just wait for their reaction.

I'm so nervous! I had no intentions of telling anyone until Christmas but I don't know how long they will be gone and we want to tell them in person.

I don't blame you for being nervous, but you are definitely doing the right thing. You are going to make him so happy with the news; you'll know the minute that you tell them that it was the right decision. Your u/s will be perfect, too, so it will be that much easier!
