We absolutely love our Vue. We were looking for a car that could haul a few children and a couple of greyhounds (and maybe some bikes and kayaks once in a while) as well as something fuel efficient that didn't feel like a truck. We're not brand loyal by any means, but this is now the third Saturn we've owned simply because they seem to have exactly what we're looking for.
It's pretty fuel efficient for an SUV, way comfy (yay butt warmers!), handles very well in the mountains (we have the AWD package) and doesn't look too much like a minivan (this was important to DH. Actually, with out Thule rack on top it looks suprisingly non-wuss).
We've owned the car for about a year and a half and I have absolutely no complaints. Of course, what you're looking for in a vehicle might differ from what we were looking for. We also looked at the CRV, Kia, and Hundai and for us the Vue won out by a long shot.
Not that u were asking about it but we have a similar SUV- Hyundai Sante Fe and love it. It has almost 100,000 miles on it and it has been great- would buy another in a second.
My brother does have a Vue and likes it but has only had it about a year. My dh use to be a mechanic for Saturn and says they are usually good cars and there service is good there too.
We just got our Saturn Vue Hybrid in September; I love it. We had a great experience at the dealership, we get phone calls to "check up" and make sure our car is running great, and their customer service is outstanding.
Our gas mileage is awesome. The only drawback, and this might be because we own the hybrid, is there's not a lot of "oomph" when passing or going over 80 MPH. It kind of sucks in that aspect. We have two kids and one large dog, and our Vue is CRAMMED when we do weekend getaways!
I hear ya! I really wanted the Saturn Vue Hybrid- but could just not get it in the color I wanted because they could or would not custom order it(Blue). So we moved on to the Jeep Dealership and got a Jeep Patriot 2x4- with Leather Interior- and Butt Warmers- and a Boston Accoustic Sound System (absolutely love it!!!) - and it gets 25 m/ gallon city and 29 miles/ gallon Hgwy driving for almost $8000 less than the coveted Saturn...Biggest selling point was the LIFETIME POWERTRAIN Warranty -cuz I drive 100 miles to work every day...
I traded my Saturn Ion which was my Baby until our daughter was born and have not looked back...

Someone just posted I think yesterday that they sold their Saturen Vue (06 model) because it was causing so many problems for them.?
Maybe look up the reviews on consumer reports.?
