AW: Our homestudy was approved!

We got the notice in the mail yesterday that our homestudy final report was approved!  Now its onto the waiting list (after paying $5k of course!)

    CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  how long did that part of the process take???  Was it only one homestudy visit???  I have heard of agencies doing 2 and 3 home studys???  We are meeting with our social worker on friday for the 1st time so I am not quite sure how our agency works.

     We had to gather alot of support documents before the homestudy meetings could take place.  Once all of the documents were turned in, we began meeting with our social worker.  We had 4 meetings (one together as a couple, one meeting each individually, and a home visit).  Once the visits were completed our SW compiled her final report and it was sent in for approval so how we're officially done with our homestudy!  As far as length of time, we started the "paperchase" at the end of August and had our meetings in Oct (four consecutive fridays) and it took about two weeks for the final report to be approved.

    Congrats! I was just looking on this board and saw something about a homestudy. I used to adoptions and I think that the finalization was the best. I wish all of you much success with the additons of your families.
