Pregnant after a Loss

If your baby is breech at 28 weeks

What are the chances of her turning on her own to get into the right position?  She's in a horizontal position 90% of the time that I can feel her.  Her butt is to my left and head to my right with feet and hands pointing down :(. During our last u/s last week, her feet and butt were completely down.

Re: If your baby is breech at 28 weeks

  • My baby was breech at 27 weeks. MD said they can turn up until 34-35 weeks, then there isn't room for them to flip....

There is still hope I think, maybe she will change her mind and start hanging out upside down!

  • Hey girlie!   I think there's defnitely still time.  I was just reading through the book we got at our childbirth class and it said that if baby is in the horizontal position (there's an actual name that's escaping me now!  transverse maybe?) that it probably won't move, so maybe it just *feels* like she is horizontal... sometimes I wonder about mine being that way too, but now that I know she's 60% effaced, I guess I'm wrong!!  I wish we could see inside to know what they are doing when our bellies bulge and poke!
  • OK, allow me to correct that statement!  It's called Transverse Lie and I think I misinterpreted what it says.  If the baby "presents" in that position it usually leads to a c-section, but that's only if she's in that position at the end, not now.  So, yes, there's still plenty of time for her to move!!
  • There's plenty of time for her to turn. My dr also told me they can turn up to the mid 30s BUT my DS was breech at 27 weeks. My dr thought he had turned but low and behold at 10 CM dilated and ready to push his little butt was presenting.......The c section wasnt that bad but planning it would have been better.

  • You have time for the baby to move.  According to my acupuncturist and our childbirth instructor (midwife), there are things you can do to try to move the baby.  But you have plenty of time.
  • My dd was breech during most of my later pg, but she had turned on her own just before my 36 wk u/s to check on it.
