yikes. hug your kiddos

A sales rep came in to work today & said one of his kids was fine and 3 days later diagnosed with a cueball sized brain tumor and a 2% chance of survival. ?Went in for surgery to remove it, went in for followup treatment, a week later it had grown back and was golfball sized. ?He's 11 and is home for the holidays and up & running around, but goes for a YEAR of chemo after Christmas.?

I've been trying to snuggle w/mine since we came home tonight.

3 days. ?That fast. ?

  • O man. How does that happen? Scary stuff.

  • A mom in my sons preschool went to her babys 4 week well baby visit.  Turns out she had a deadly, rare disease.... they got her on drugs, she was a total zombie, and they made the VERY spiritual, difficult choice to let her enjoy her remaining time without being doped up.  (The lifespan expectancy with drugs was 2 years.)

So, they did hospice at home, loved her, held her, and let her life a happy... 3 months. :(

I tear up just typing it.  I was crying when the mom was sharing this.  It just happened this past May and she has a 3 year old daughter who misses her sister!!

  • Cancer totally sucks.  We have had a couple close friends go through it with their children.  Let the person know about carepages.com it is a great way to keep people up to date on what is going on and get well wishes from everyone.
  • God, that sucks big time. Definitely have to enjoy every moment because you just never know.
