Registering

Anyone else not ready to register but thinking about putting something together for Christmas gifts?  We know what big things we want so I was thinking about starting a registry for our parents to buy from for Christmas.  I told my mom gift cards were fine and she freaked out saying she wanted to shop for the baby too, which I guess does make sense.  Is this something I could do easily on-line since it would just be a few things?
