Pregnant after a Loss

**SKATCAT**

I'm not sure why they won't let me go past 41 wks, but I'm okay with that. Baby is doing fine. We did a stress test today and everything was fine.  But 2 wks ago when I had an u/s baby was already measuring 8lbs 2 oz..(about) give or take a pound so that may be the reason.

Re: **SKATCAT**

  • Well, if you are ok with it then certainly I am too. :-D

But it might be worth asking your doctor specifically why he thinks its necessary, if the baby isn't in distress. U/s are not always inaccurate when it comes to estimating baby's weight in utero, and inductions can be pretty tough on both you and the baby. Plus, 40 weeks is just a general guideline, its not a magic number.

It may just be my own untutored belief, but I think for the most part women grow exactly as big as baby as they can safely deliver.  I find it sort of alarming how the rate of induction as sky-rocketed..its as alarming as the rate of c-sections!

That's just my activist self speaking. I don't mean to pry or preach.:-D
