I bought DS some Cars (Disney) on his b-day. Would it be wrong to use those as stocking stuffers just so there is something there? Money is really tight right now, so I'm trying to find anything I can to make Christmas fun and CHEAP.
If he hasn't played with them yet then I say go right on ahead. Even if he has and may have forgotten about then I would still say yes. Only "No" if it's one of his go-to toys all of the time...that would just be weird.
our ds always forgets that he has toys! Or you could put a couple of snacks in there... apple, crackers, or a really cool toothbrush. I don't think stocking gifts need to be extravagant. Especially at that age, our two year old is getting socks and the above items in his. He'll be excited just pulling stuff out the stocking.
if he hasn't seen them yet, then stuff away. if he has, don't do it. you could leave the stocking empty. he won't notice this year. or stuff the bottom w/ tissue and only put a few things on top. this is what i did last year. this year i'm putting the following in:
Re: Stocking stuffer Q for 2yo boy
Sure, if he hasn't played with them.
I am hitting the Dollar Tree for some coloring and board books. Adding a sippy cup or two and some snacks and that's a cheap stocking.
DS - December 2006
DD - December 2008
sure. I think that most of the fun will be undoing the wrapping anyway!
Other cheap stocking stuffers:
Treats (gerber cereal bars, granola minis, teddy grahams, minipacks of goldfish crackers-favorite snack/treats)
A toothbrush! (maybe a character one)
New socks or mittens
The target dollar bin!! hit it! (small books, mini toys, etc.)
