Should I give MH his boots now or wait?

Short story:  MH found these boots he liked in Maxim.  I found some ones that look just like them and ordered them.

He said, when I showed him them online, that they were too expensive and not to buy them.  Well, I bought them anyway and they arrived today.

Should I give him them now?  So that way, in case he doesn't like them I can send them back?

Or wait until Christmas because they are one of precious few gifts he's getting.

I kind of want to give them to him tonight when he gets home so he can A) wear them now if he wants and we can send them back if he really doesn't like them.

But then he'll have just a small handful of gifts to open on Christmas Day.

I'm really bad about giving gifts as soon as I've purchased them.  DH and I don't typically give each other gifts for Christmas/birthdays, so I'd more than likely give them to him right away.

I would wait and then you can still send them back if he does not like them.  I want to see a pic of them.

Honestly, they're so not his style that I'm surprised he wanted them.  But they're FRYE boots.

I would probably give them to him, but I am bad about that too.  Just look to have some small surprises for Christmas.  I am working now to find a way to justify putting together the play kitchen that UPS just delivered for DS for Christmas from my mom.  I unfortunately don't think she will support opening it...
