I remember when we first talked about night weaning you said you told Miles that he could nurse again when the sun came up. How long did it take him to accept that? How old was he when you night weaned?
DD is still waking around 5am asking for milk. This has been going on for months (about 4 months probably). I tell her that the mommy milk is still sleeping until the sun comes up, and she screams "Mommy milk awaaakee!" for a few minutes before finally calming down and going back to sleep. 4 months is way too long for this to still be going on! Did Miles do anything like that?
I think my OP is on the second page right now if you want to read it, but I have to warn you it's very long.
Re: Cleo - are you still here?
It really only took him a few days to get it but my situation was a bit different: I was going back to work on the night-shift. I simply wasn't there at night next to him in bed anymore and therefore by default dh had to soothe him at night.
My memory is fuzzy, but if I recall correctly I think that when I wasn't working I spent a little while sleeping on the couch because if I got in bed Miles immediately slipped back into wanting to nurse on and off at night.
Sorry I can't be of more help...
That does make it easier. I successfully got DD to eliminate the midnight-2am time frame. She just comes to our bed now and goes right back to sleep. I just can't keep getting up at 5am! Maybe I should slip out before she wakes up and go sleep in her bed.
Thanks for replying.
