I heat them to steaming. I know the risk is slight, but if you do draw the unlucky straw the consequences can be severe for both you and the baby...not just miscarriage, but the baby could be blind or severely disabled, and you can die. I would hate to know that I could have done something simple to avoid that, so I play it safe. I don't care if people think it's overly cautious.

Deli meat has never been a favorite of mine but if I do have it I heat it to steaming. For some reason I've had cravings the last week for ham and cheese so I brought sub buns last week. I put the ham on one side and cheese on the other then put it in the oven. Oh gosh so good.
I have a couple times, but only from places that I know do a lot of business so they have quick product turn over. It's a very small risk that I probably shouldn't take, but I worry when I eat salads too. Remember the spinach scare last year?
I eat it probably about once every other week, without heating it up or anything. I'm not a big deli meat eater anyways, so it's not something that a regular in my diet.

I've had it twice but heated it both times. My doctor is on the liberal side so I was surprised when she said absolutely not, but it gave me more reason to obey her.
I've had one turkey sandwich not heated up. It makes me feel guilty....the one I had I was so hungry and we didn't have anything else at home. I think it's ok in moderation, if I could get over the stupid guilt!
not since before 6 weeks. i used to eat a turkey sandwich daily for lunch and it is the one food i am looking forward to the most after delivery. i don't like my deli meat hot, so i haven't had it since.
I only purchase sandwiches from places that slice the deli meat fresh for every sandwich. My m/w said as long as it's fresh sliced and from a reputable place than I should be fine.

I haven't had any at all and I am dying for a sub from Publix or Subway. I've only had veggie subs from Publix and they so don't compare. My NP said it is fine, but I still am cautious.
I have had it a few times but that's it. If I am craving a sandwich, I usually get a vegi at Subway and that tames the craving for a bit. My first meal request is a turkey sandwich from my favorite deli and a small glass of red wine!

Subway will heat the meat for you, you just need to ask them.

I don't eat deli sandwiches from stores, I make my own and heat the meats in the microwave.
I am not really a sandwhich/deli kind of person.. so I just totally avoid during this pregnancy.
