Pregnant after a Loss

I feel like I have restless leg syndrome

which I use to think was totallly made up and ridiculous but at night I just can't get comfortable and feel like I have to stretch and shake them out constantly. ?It's so freakin' annoying! ?I feel like a 70 year old!!

Anyone else with the weird leg thing? ?

Re: I feel like I have restless leg syndrome

  • i feel likie my legs/joints get "stiff" if i don't constantly stretch or move them.

  • Yes, I've had it for a couple years and it got worse with pregnancy.  Some people develop it dring pg too, so perhaps you're one of the lucky newbies!!  Hopefully it goes away after the baby is born.  The only thing that I've found to be helpful is to get up and move... walking up and down steps is good.  I notice mine in the evenings when I'm exhausted.
  • i have read that can be a pretty common thing during pregnancy... sorry! :(

  • yup. when i get tired. i call it 'antsy legs'. it isn't cramping, just annoying restless feeling. putting my feet on the cold floor helps, as does walking around.  which is ironic - since i get the antsy legs when i'm tired and want to relax, not walk around!!

Me too. I've had it for a while and I blame my mom since she has it too. Now, I've found getting up and walking around. I use to do a hot bath and that would help.

  • Yup, I'm starting to get it too, and carpel tunnel in my hands. I had both in the 3rd tri w/ DD, they can get annoying. good thing is they both go away shortly after delivery. For the legs, it seems to help if I have them elevated a bit at night. Try sticking a pillow under your feet.
  • My dad has it and now I'm getting it during pregnancy.  Very annoying.

Thanks for the tips ladies I will definitelly be trying them.

  • I definitely have it.  I had it before but it was only once in awhile.  Since the minute I got pregnant I have bouts of it every single night.  It lasts about 20 minutes and happens 2 or 3 times a night.  It is awful and definitely not made up!
