Which Graco carseats do you guys have? Just curious since you said you like them and I am thinking ahead to when the boys outgrow their Snugrides. (And trying to get a vague idea of upcoming big expenses over the next year ...)

What's up, buttercup? We have Graco ComfortSports. They are crazy easy to install and come in lots of patterns. I bought mine on Amazon and got them about three days later. They weren't expensive in the grand scheme of things at all. Something like $80 a pop. They are really easy to clean, too!

How are they space-wise in terms of taking up the backseat of your car?

It totally depends on your car. We had them first in our Jeep, but there was barely enough space btwn them for their cup holders. So we traded the Jeep for a Toyota Camry and holy smokes- there is enough space btwn them for an adult, sans cup holders, but they fit really well in the seat. Plus you can still get to the floor of the car so you can pile the diaper bag and toys and crap in there as well!

DH is starting the shopping for a second car and I keep reminding him that in addition to the other criteria, he really needs to keep in mind how twin-friendly it is! "Think two carseats plus gear in the back ... a bulky double stroller in the trunk ..."
