How do you sign up for this? I already signed up for SSI for my DD. Someone mentioned that if I signed up for medicare they would probably cover the amounts that my HMO won't cover for my DD.
Call your local Medicaid office. I don't know all of the rules/regulations and our social worker gave us wrong info so I'd just call and ask. Don't be afraid to advocate for your needs!
Our SSI and medicare came together. Check with your hospital social worker and call medicare. Some of the medicare workers make it a big deal, but just keep trying.
The hospital applied for our babies since they are technically the "guardians" of them right now. There's an office at our hospital that contacts the parents of babies in the NICU, or other people who are there for a long time to help them find ways to pay for costs. Maybe you could check to find something similar?
IUI # 1 on 1/19, Beta 2/1 = BFN, Hysteroscopy on 2/15= 5 polyps removed, and cervix cleared, IUI #2 on 4/15 = BFP, Beta#1 on 4/30 @ 15 dpiui= 279, Beta #2 on 5/9 @24dpiui = 10,154, U/S on 8/5 = TWO GIRLS! Born 10/16 at 28 weeks.
The social worker at the hospital gave us the papers for SSI and medicaid together.....so, I'd check with your social worker if you have one. ?We qualify for medicaid for her because she's still in the hospital and our income doesn't count as long as she's in there.

DS automatically received Medicare once he was approved for SSI and they sent me all the information I needed in the mail. But like previous posters have said check with your case worker at the hospital.
