REALLY silly name question

DH and I love the name Emma but are having a hard time coming up with a good middle name. I was thinking Clare (in honor of my grandmother) but just realized last night that people could call her Eclair (like the dessert). I know it is super silly but do you think kids would pick on her because of it? I would hate to be the parents where everyone says "why would you name your child that".

Kids are mean and Eclaire isn't bad as far as nick names go. if you like it go for it.

Most kids won't know her middle name unless she tells them, so I say go for it...Emma Clare is a beautiful name!

I love the name!  And to tell you the truth I teach in a school with a really rough crowd and our kids very rarely go for making fun of names.  I know its only one school but something i noticed.

I think Emma Clare is a beautiful name! We had a hard time deciding on a middle name for our Emma too.  I highly doubt kids will call her that.  Like pp said, they would need to know her name.  ALso, most kids do not tease with names, at least my students dont.

I love the name!  My grandmother's name is Emily Claire, so I may be a little biased.  And no one ever called my grandmother eclair, so I wouldn't worry about it.

I really think it is a cute name.. and to be honest.. I too think that not very many kids would know the middle name, but if they did, I think it would be a cute nickname (not as a way of making fun of her).  My friends name is Share and people call her Share Bear as a nickname.  If you would sometiems call her Eclair, I think she would find it cute too.

well, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Most people never find out your middle name. The only time kids in school usually hear it is at the beginning of the year when teachers are calling them out. I know an Ella Claire, and never thought of the Eclair thing myself, but that doesn't mean kids in her class won't. I think you should name her what you want. Kids will be mean if they are going to be mean; if they don't have a name to pick on they will find something else. You can't keep it from happening if it is going to happen, IMO.
