Pregnant after a Loss

2nd beta in!

My doctor doesn't do repeat betas, but I was freaking out on Thursday because my bbs didn't feel as sore when I woke up that a.m. I went in to get my bloodwork done and finally got my results back today.

10 dpo (3 weeks, 3 days) - HCG was 46, progesterone was 24.2

18 dpo (4 weeks, 4 days) - HCG was 2884, progesterone was 23.6

The nurse said both my numbers look good. Should I worry that my progesterone level is lower especially since my doctor put me on prometrium 200 mg suppositories daily?

I have my first appointment and ultrasound this Wednesday. What should I expect to see on the u/s at 5 weeks and 3 days? Thanks ladies!

Re: 2nd beta in!

  • I think your numbers look great! As for the u/s at 5w3d, I would expect to see the sac and yolk sac. I had an u/s at 6w1d and still could not see the embryo. I quickly learned that this is VERY common so early on and 2 weeks later saw my porkchop and his little heartbeat going strong. My point is, don't freak out like I did if you can't see your bean just yet. GL!

  • Yay, that's great!  I think your progesterone numbers look fine too.  I had an u/s at 5 weeks 6 days and we saw the heartbeat (although I was measuring ahead).  You probably won't see a h/b that early, but you should see the sac.  Best of luck!
  • Congrats! Those numbers look great! It is perfectly normal for progesterone to fluctuate. Mine actually dropped from 35 to 20, which is when I started taking prometrium and things have been fine since. GL at your u/s this week!
  • yay for great betas!!  congrats!  at 5w3d, you should see a sac & maybe a fetal pole, i think.  probably not much else, & sometimes that can be hard to see so early.  Good luck!
  • That's great!  According to the betabase calculator your hcg is doubling in about 30 hours, which is fantastic.  I don't know about the prog supps, but I think they just want to see you above 15, right?  Good luck at your u/s; don't be too discouraged if you don't see much, it's still very early... although it sounds like things are off to a great start.
  • congratulations! ?great news!!!?
