Finding Pediatrician

I am not due until May 20, 2009, so I might be too early.  I just want to make sure I don't forget to do this!  When did you start looking and actually choose your pediatrician? Thanks for your help.

As soon as you can.... I started interviewing pedis around 27 weeks or so.  I lucked out and found one with the 1st interview that I loved and cancelled the others I had scheduled.

Ours is a family friend - all I had to do was make sure they were in network w/my insurance.  I didn't have to shop around.  Most pede's offices will have a new patient meet & greet so you can see the office & meet the staff before you decide.  Just call around and start setting things up. 

If you don't have one at time of delivery the hospital will assign one to you - whether they are in your insurance network or not.  So as long as it's done before you go into labor, you're good.

For me it was a no brainer...I chose the same pedi that took care of me lol
