Can't Open the Safety 1st Push 'n Snap Cabinet Lock

I have the Safety 1st Push 'n Snap Cabinet Lock  - that my husband put on the cabinets yesterday.  Well now I don't know how to open it.  The Safety 1st website says "push button for fast and easy access."  I keep pressing the only button I can find (on the bottom of the lock) and trying to open them and I can't do it.  Am I missing something obvious?  Is there a trick to this?

I have them and you have to squeeze it together while pushing the button, then pull apart. It's tricky.
