Is this a new trend? Thoughts?

My BFF just received a pregnancy announcement. ?Basically it said, "hey we're pregnant" and gave the due date. ?Has anyone seen this done?

No, but that is a really good idea though. We have friends that we had to find out through the grapevine that they were pregnant. It would have been nice to get some kind of announcement (phone call/card/etc.), so that we were in the "know". You know?

I've seen them being sold.  I've never gotten one....but I guess it's along the same lines as me sending the announcement via email to everyone.

It's a new way to make sure people put some $ aside for the upcoming baby gift they will have to buy.

Some friends of mine did it.  I thought it was cute.  Although I think she got excited because she called me the day before it arrived.  This was in July though, I don't think I would do it in Dec.  I would include a blurb in the Christmas card.

I've never received one in the mail - I get them on email all the time, though.

Lol, my sister did that when she was pregnant. She didn't want to call up the whole family and tell them she was pregnant (they aren't close) but didn't want the next holiday gathering (the only time they ever talk or see eachother) to be really awkward when she was either very pregnant or arriving with a baby. I helped her make cute little cards and we included an ultrasound picture. In our family situation, it made sense to do it that way.?

I think it's really cute.  Plus who doesn't love getting mail?
