I go back to work Dec. 10 and there is just no end in sight with my baby's sleep habits. I want to prepare for the worst now.
If you are sleep deprived, can you still function decently at work?
I am looking at 5 hours a night of sleep, when I used to get 10 or even 12. I really depend on my sleep moreso than others.

Re: Those with infants who get little sleep
ditto coffee coffee coffe and more coffee. And LOTS of to -do lists and reminders on my computer so I wouldn't miss meetings, etc.
And know it WILL get better. They all do sleep eventually. It may just seem like forever, but they will sleep.
Mine's almost two and still up most nights.
I agree with PPs. I drink far more coffee than I should, make lists, and just try to stay on top of things. You do get used to less sleep.
agree with pp. DD started sleeping a little better at 10months. cosleeping helped a lot. It also helped me feel like we were connected when I wasn't seeing her much in the day.
you get used to it. I don't do coffee, but you go to bed earlier. You beg for forgiveness when you blank on someone's name. You throw in a story on how badly DC is sleeping so your coworkers realize it is sleep deprivation and not stupidity that made you do the mistake.
