TTC after 35

costs for IUI?

Hi,

I am new to the boards (well I used to be on when I was pg with my DS he's 3)

We have been trying for a yr to get pg again and I am on my 4th round of Clomid.  I am assuming next step would be IUI - my insurance doesnt cover it and I have no idea if it's even something we could pursue.

 Any help is appreciated.

 THANKS

  • I too wish I had gone right to the IVF, but who would have thought I'd fail 4 times?!

    Ultrasounds/bloodwork = $395 (one of my cycles I had 6 of these=$2370)
    Spermwash/IUI = $300 (you get 2 days in a row= $600)

The meds are insane. I would guess $2000-$4000 a cycle, but that really depends on what they have you take. One vial of 900IU of follistim was $717. They were having me do 300 IU a day (along with other meds) and during one of my cycles I did 12 days @ 300IU each day=4 vials=$2868. Lupron isn't expensive at all. Menopur is on the expensive side but not as bad as follistim. Ovidrel-to make you ovulate-one time shot, I think like $80. Don't panic, not everyone takes follistim.
