Pregnant after a Loss

Doppler Question

I'm looking on ebay becuase I was thinking about going ahead and buying one.  I know its early, but usually my ebay stuff takes forever to actually get shipped to my house.  Anyway, does anyone know what the difference is between 2.0 Mhz and 3.0 Mhz?  Is 3 better?  I can't find anything online that explains this.  Thanks!

Re: Doppler Question

  • I don't really know anything about dopplers, but I think its great that you are getting one... it is my one regret about this pregnancy. There were so many times having a doppler would've saved me tons of worry...

I would assume 3 is better than 2 Mhz....??

  • I remember reading that 3mz is a little more sensitive than 2mz, but I have a 2mz one and I have been able to hear the hbs fine since about 12 weeks.  There are other girls on here who have the 2mz that have heard the hbs at home around 10 weeks.
  • I just googled some more and it seems 3 is better to hear sooner, but if you are overweight 2 is better.  I'm not a small girl, but I don't think I fit in the overweight category so I'm leaning towards the 3.  I think since this is my 1st baby and I don't even really know what movement feels like I'm going to get one.  That way I don't have to stress at 16 weeks when I can't feel the baby move yet.  Plus my DH is getting deployed (and gone lots for training) so I thought it would be fun for him to get to hear the baby's heartbeat.
