Yeah, ours does have that on it. ?But in reality, its really not that big of a deal if it doesn't have that. ?It just makes it easier to get the baby in and out
We're also going the PNP route. Much easier and one less piece of furniture for this kid

We're using a PnP also ... I figured we need a PnP anyway, and I thought it was pointless to buy another piece of furniture if the PnP can serve the same purpose.
I felt a lot of confusion about this too... we ended up getting the Arms Reach Mini Converible Co-sleeper, which can be used as a bassinet, and then converts into a mini playpen which I will use downstairs (we have limited space and the PNP, which is what I originally wanted, wouldn't have fit).
You can also check online or on Craigslist to get better deals on bassinets and stuff, if you just want something cheap to use for a few weeks...
i went back and forth between whether to get the pnp or the arms reach co-sleeper. luckily, someone mentioned that the co-sleeper only worked with beds at a certain height and i knew instantly our bed would be too tall for it. so, we registered for the pnp with the bassinet instead.
Re: Bassinet
We didn't have a bassinet. ?We actually used the pack n play until we were ready to move her into her room.
