Diarrhea in a 5 day old...help.

DS was born Tues.  Last night he started having diarrhea.  I am feeding him BM every 2-3 hrs.  My milk came in yesterday so I hope it's not b/c of that.  He is doing it at least every diaper change and most of the time between each as well.  He has an appt. Tues. so I hate to call if it's just going to go away, but when do I need to worry?  I haven't noticed any other symptoms and he is eating fine.

Are you sure it is diarrhea?  My DD is bf'ed and her poops always looked like diarrhea that early on.  She also pooped every diaper change!

It's been almost 2 years, but I remember bitty baby poop looking like baby food.  Sorry for the comparrison.  I bet everything is fine.

I wondered if it was b/c I read on the internet that it can look runny like that, but this is constant.  He is doing it every diaper change and usually in between each change.  Thanks for the reassurance.  I figured I'd just wait until Tues., but you just never know, so I thought I'd ask.

My girls had runny, yellowish BMs when I was BFing them... And they had about 8+ BMs a day.

Breastmilk poops look like diarrhea.

Mine pooped with virtually every diaper change for the first month or so. I used 12-15 diapers a day.

I also remember the many many poopie diapers a day.

I also remember the 10 diapers in one diaper change because she kept pooping while changing her. 

It sounds really normal to me.

does it smell bad?  if it smells bad it might be a food intolerance but if it smells ok it probably is normal.

that sounds like normal BM poop.  DS had it about 10 times a day.

 

It took a while for my milk to come in and because he was jaundice I had to give him some formula which stunk.  dr said it was fine and that is normal poop.
