My manager's son died 2 weeks ago. Today they are having an open house/reception in honor of his late son. Should I go? I'm torn because he really is sort of a jerk. I am terribly sorry for his loss but he hasn't treated me very well as an employee. THroughout my pregnancy he would make comments about how I should have gotten a puppy instead of having a child. The last day I was at work, he didn't bother to show up to my baby shower/luncheon and if I hadn't stopped by his desk on my way out before I went on Pregnancy leave, he probably wouldn't have said anything to me whatsoever.
I have since applied for a new position within the company. Eh... I just don't know. Part of me thinks I should go, but the other part of me thinks that he probably could care less if I showed up or not.
